Maybe it's because I don't randomly hate people just for living that I fail to grasp the logic behind terrorist attacks. Maybe it's because terrorists do randomly hate people for living that terrorist organizations fail to see that attacks like this just push more and more people towards agreeing with Ann Coulter when she makes statements about invading countries, killing their leaders, and converting them all to Christianity.

It's pretty sad what these crazy people do to get attention.
It's scary over here at the TTC - We're in this Alert 1 mode, where we have to be vigilant at all times and always have our badges showing. The TTC cops are on special duty guard today.
"Maybe it's because I don't randomly hate people just for living that I fail to grasp the logic behind terrorist attacks." -> There is no reason anyone should have to grasp the logic behind terrorist attacks - It's very illogical and there is no excuse.
... I heard that they are doing this to tell the G8 leaders to listen, or something.
Don't think that TTC is under any danger. Better safe than sorry, but don't worry too much there, girl.
Shit, pressed post too early. Anyway, if you could possibly manage to put yourselves in the shoes of terrorists, it's logical in their ... otherly-moraled minds. They're not unlearned, and they're not so much immoral as they are differently-thinking. They hadn't the same opportunity as we do to learn about tolerance and individuality. Even despite our education in these areas, many many people are still intolerant and hateful. e.g. On the U of T St. George campus area on college, I saw many signs spraypainted with the words "FAGGOTS BRING EVIL" "HOMOSEXUALITY IS EVIL" "READ THE BIBLE". Even though most people do not say it so bluntly, most people share this same view, though maybe to a lesser extent (i.e. opposition to same-sex marriage = promotion of segregation). Neither of us can rightfully understand what's going through the minds of those people either. We don't understand why they're so intolerant and so hateful towards specific groups of people.
Then we delve into religion. Religion is the source of hatred in both scenarios, even though it may not have been meant to incite hatred. Whereas "Christian Family Values" is largely what leads to homophobia and people spraypainting shit, "Islamic Jihad" is largely what leads to terrorist attacks and bombings. Religion in general has done more harm than good over the course of history. Most major wars were fought in the name of religion. This is only one of them. But this is fought in a style in which neither side can win. All we can do is maintain the status-quo. Otherwise, THE Holocaust will seem but a speck in history to the inevitable nuclear holocaust that is to follow.
It's really too bad that religion does that to people - Actually it's horrible. People are obviously not doing it right.
And you don't know that the TTC is under any danger - you never know. Did you know the London transit systems were under danger? ... No one ever KNOWS. It just happens.
And I'm not worrying - but if I'm told by the director of the department to be vigilant and to watch out for weird behaviour, I will.
So I'll be better safe than sorry, thanks, boy. :D
I think the fact that they warned that Denmark was in for an attack is what really threw me off. I don't remember Denmark contributing anything to any of the wars (although I could be wrong). If they did contribute something to the wars, more importantly the war in Iraq, then the TTC doesn't really have to worry - although it still should just in case.
And Euguene is right about religion. It's sad when even the Bhuddists start persecuting people (Hello People's Republic of China). The fact that people think that they are delivering 'God's Justice', on both sides scares me.
As for getting the leaders of the G8 to listen to them, it makes me wonder if they have something legitimate to actually say. If it's just about the War in Iraq, I think it's upsetting that they attacked London since there is so much anti-Bush and anti-war sentiment there, and the attacks will just coerce people into thinking that they were wrong in having that sentiment.
And don't even mention nuclear holocaust. That thought scares me, and reminds me that there are so many things that the G8 nations and the US and Russia in specific should be doing instead of invading Middle Eastern countries, and suppressing sepratists and conscripting teenagers into an army where they end up beaten or killed if they don't desert (respectively of course).
